Language sources
Sindarin (sound), Welsh (phonetic representation/sound), Irish, Mandarin Chinese (some grammar), every other language I have ever studied.
[edit]
Design principles
First and foremost that it should sound beautiful save for when one speaks of terrible things and then the malice of those words should ring out amid the beauty. That it should not be impossible to master and that it should reflect the history it comes out of.
[edit]
Interest of others
My wife, when she stumbles upon my enigmatic writings. My cats, as they sit at my feet and listen to me sounding out the potential words.
