Language sources
High Latin (vocabulary), Germanic languages (phonology) and Sindarin (mutations).
[edit]
Design principles
Latin words with antepenultimate stress lose the middle syllable, transferring the quality of the lost vowel into the stressed syllable as a diphthong. Intervocalic clusters are softened and simplified.
[edit]
Interest of others
Jovian has found a home in the alternate reality project Ill Bethisad. It's spoken in Jervaine, a fictional country comprising the territories of Alsace, Moselle and some of the Black Forest.
