Language sources
LFN draws from Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese and French. Its grammar is a highly reduced form of these languages, as simplified as a creole, yet quite as flexible and expressive as any of the original languages.
Design principles
First, phonetic spelling. Second, regular and very simple grammar. Third, essentially the vocabulary of a Romance language. Fourth, naturally accepting of Greek and Latin neologisms. Fifth, an esthetic appeal.
Interest of others
Many people on the internet have expressed interest, including a number of translations and some original material. There is a yahoo group devoted to LFN as well.
