Lingwa de Planeta is an international auxiliary language created by a small group of enthusiasts from St. Petersburg, Russia.

Language sources

The main: English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, French, Italian, Novial; additional: Turkish, Ukrainian, Esperanto, Finnish, Japanese, Swedish, others.

Design principles

The most distinctive feature of LdP, in which it differs from nearly all the other planned languages, is that it imports many words and grammatical elements from non-European languages, and at the same time is highly naturalistic. Sometimes you could think that it's just a mixture of words of various languages, but in fact there is a system, of course. LdP is created as a simple grammatical scheme allowing the use of international vocabulary without serious deformations. Most words in LdP end in a vowel or y, n, m, l, s, r.

Interest of others

A group of humanistically-oriented people is studying the language. Every Saturday there is a meeting of the LdP club in St.Petersburg. A report in LdP has been made on a humanist conference: http://forhumanism.org/en/materials/SP2006LdPEnglish.html
