Romanova is an international language and was created by David Crandall, Robert Hubert, Michael Edwards. It has been used for a translation of the Babel Text.
Uniqueness
Language materials have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian and more languages, making it one of the most serious of the newly constructed contenders for IALs. Having intelligibility for Romance-speakers maximized to about 90% on the average, and thus immediately useful for basic communication with several hundred million people who have never studied it. It is especially useful if translation into the natural Romance languages would be too difficult.
Language sources
The Romance languages and Interlingua.
Design principles
Word roots and grammar common to the Romance languages were searched to find forms understandable to the majority of Romance-speakers. The verb has no personal inflexions, for simplicity, but is otherwise very Romance-like. Simple pronunciation, phonetic spelling. Few irregularities.
Interest of others
The website is being translated into various languages by several translators who seem to agree that the language is useful for communication with Romance-speakers, and possibly others who may decide to learn it.
