Saiyan is the main dialect being the Lingua Franca of the simian-like alien humanoid species called the Saiyans - a well-known warrior race from the popular Manga/Anime series: Dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT. There were an number of distinct Saiyan languages (many of which were poly-guttural in nature) that arose on the Planet Cropp (non canonic) - the original homeworld of the Saiyans before they migrated to Planet Plant, which was the homeworld of the Tsufuru (known as the "Tuffles" and "Tsufuls") race.
Saiyan has no canonical basis - there is no reference to it anywhere in the legitimate series. But I am however, basing it on what little evidence there exists that could suggest they had their own language(s). The purpose of it is to "flesh out" the Saiyan race and for use in DBZ related fan-fiction and role play games. I am also putting forth details on the Planets they have called home, as well as their origins, evolution, history, Saiyan races and tribes based on regions, cultures, customs, etc.
Uniqueness
Like their names - many of the words within the lexicon are plays on and/or derivatives various vegetables and plant-related items.
Design principles
Being an aggressive war-like people, my intention is to make it harsh, guttural and "tough-guy" sounding; yet appealing and intriguing enough to attract a sizable audience and fan-following (thus gearing it to be not too challenging to learn), as well as being naturalistic and elaborative. I am constructing it under the ethic to create words without the use of artificial word-generators of any kind. The language is currently in the stage of continuous revision and perfection.
Interest of others
I will be putting together an entire website pertaining to the Saiyan conlangs, conworlds and concultures, and to the Saiyan race itself. I also plan create an non-profit organization equivalent to the Klingon and Vulcan Language Institutes.
