Language sources
Verdurian was the primary influence in terms of actually developing and creating the language. Virtual Verduria showed me that there were others out there who enjoyed doing what I did. Latin was also an inspiration, but only in terms of noun case usage and development.
Design principles
It is a very inflecting language. Shaels use affixes, suffixes, or infixes for about everything, from verbal meaning, standard derivational morphology to altering their own names.
Interest of others
Not yet, but one can always hope.
