Shas Sid is a fictional language created by the Brazilian writer Flavio Rebello for his science fiction saga 'CID'. That language is used by the inhabitants of Sid, a group of islands on Moa, a planet in another solar systm, but with Homo Sapiens people living in there.
Shas Sid is a fully developed language, with more than 4.500 meanings of its words. The goal of its author is to make the language actually to be used, something that just two fictional languages succeeded to be - Klingon and Quenya.
There is an online course (unfortunately just in Portuguese language by now - in the future, it is going to be offered in English too), a big online dictionary, some videoclips at YouTube and even some ebooks and a magazine for the learners to practice (in PDF). Shas Sid is written with a unique script.
Uniqueness
The use of a unique script and the fact that all the words have just three letters make this language really different from the common 'Latin grammar based' conlangs. In fact, its grammar goes much closer to some Chinese languages, althought it is written by an alphabet.
Language sources
Sid Culture Associaton (nowadays just avaiable in Portuguese, soon also in English and Spanish); Shas Sid Portal.
Design principles
The language was designed to feel and sound as different as possible from an Western language.
