Skerre was developed by Doug Ball. It is the language of several loosely organized bands of the Western Interior Range. For an extended example, see the translation of the Skerre Babel Text.
Language sources
The present version of Skerre is largely inspired by languages native to North America (especially the Pacific Northwest) and Austronesia (especially Oceania). Previous versions of Skerre were influenced by Latin, French, Ancient Greek, Russian, Turkish, and Basque, though their influence has become faint over the years.
Design principles
Realism -- that is, trying to make the language seems as though it can be a real language that a linguist could discover "out there" -- and the author's own aesthetic senses.
Interest of others
Limited, at best. However, many years ago, there was a play written and performed in Skerre. Background on the play is available here and the script can be downloaded from this page.
