Telerin is a fictional language and was designed by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Uniqueness

The language of the Sea-Elves. Helge writes, "Telerin as a language plays a very little role in Tolkien's narratives, and the fact that he still constructed parts of it confirms that to him, the languages were just as important as the stories, if not more. The Sea-elves were ever present in Tolkien's mythos, though under various names; in the early texts they are called Solosimpi (the name Teleri Tolkien originally applied to the First Clan, the later Vanyar). Whatever their name was, a distinct language for the Sea-elves was evidently always envisioned."

Language sources

The phonology was possibly influenced by Italian.
