Language sources
The original proto-Esperanto that Zamenhof had been working on in Europe before he immigrated to Texas.

Design principles
Basically the same as our-reality Esperanto, but, coincidentally, Texperanto replicates many of the reforms suggested for Esperanto in this reality over the last century, and would seem to be influenced by Loglan, Ido, and other such projects, as well as rather more influence from Spanish, Haitian Creole, and some American Indian languages.

Interest of others
Very few in our Universe, but it's a world language in the Crockett Universe.
