Triparik is a personal language and was designed by Carrie Schutrick, and Shawn Knight.
Uniqueness
Triparik (or Triparian) is the language of a micronation, an artificial country, and as such is a group effort. Most of the root words are from Romance and Germanic languages, though Celtic tongues may end up contributing vocabulary. Designed to be fun but useful, the initial joke was that Triparian was "what Roman centurions used to chat up Gaulish barmaids." The web site features a thousand-word dictionary, a grammar, sample texts and the start of a primer. Triparik is the language of a micronation, an artificial country, and as such is more a group effort than a personal language.
Language sources
We take most of our root words from Romance and Germanic languages, though we are considering adding Celtic toungues to the list. Since the overhaul of the language, there has been the inclusion of Germanic and Eastern European influences.
Design principles
It was supposed to be fun yet still useful; at first we joked that it was "what Roman centurions used to chat up Gaulish barmaids."
Interest of others
The language underwent a huge overhaul when it was declaired to be the language of a new micronation (Septempontia, created by Shawn Knight). It continues to be built and changed through suggestions and contributions of Septempontians, but is still primarly controlled by Mr. Knight and Ms. Schutrick.
