Because of their large surface area (and in the case of kale and crinkly leafed vegetables, the thousands of little crevices and folds) it is very easy for pesticides to be trapped and stored, and therefore passed on to you.

Milk from an organic cow contains no traces of chemical pesticides, antibiotics or other chemicals. Milk from a non organically farmed cow, on the other hand, can show a terrifying amount of different chemicals… from the non organic feed that the cow has been fed to the chemicals that the milk has been treated with.
There is also the chance that hormones may be passed on in the milk, many dairy cows are treated with an estrogen type hormone that stimulates milk production; this hormone is starting to be linked to cases of breast cancer.
Not only does organically raised meat taste better, due to the animal’s natural lifestyle and its ability to run around, grow and develop muscle, it contains no traces of growth hormones or antibiotics. Many mass produced animals are dosed with antibiotics to keep them healthy-risk of disease is far greater with conventional meat farming methods, due to overcrowding and poor health generally-and these chemicals can be found in the meat.
There are even some antibiotic resistant bacteria that can be found in non organic meat, not something that you want to be putting into your body.
Of course, you will have to look at your own dietary habits before deciding which are the most important foods to buy organically. Simply look at what you eat the most of, and work towards these things becoming organic. You will probably find that you want to switch everything anyway, but start with small steps and you will really notice a positive change.
